Slow Cooker Beef Tips

Preparation
1. Prepare the Vegetables:
– Place the sliced onions and mushrooms into the bottom of a 4.5-quart slow cooker.

2. Sear the Beef:
– Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
– Season the steak strips generously with salt and pepper.
– Add the steak to the hot skillet and sear on all sides for about 3 minutes. Do not cook through.
– Transfer the seared meat to the slow cooker, placing it on top of the vegetables.

3. Deglaze the Skillet:
– Pour a splash of red wine into the hot skillet.
– Scrape the bottom to remove any browned bits, and then pour these into the slow cooker.
