Southern goulash

In a large skillet or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through. Drain any excess fat if needed.
Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and diced green bell pepper to the skillet with the cooked ground beef. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, elbow macaroni, beef broth or water, Worcestershire sauce, dried oregano, and dried basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer gently for about 15-20 minutes, or until the macaroni is cooked al dente, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Once the macaroni is cooked and the sauce has thickened, taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
Serve the Southern goulash hot, garnished with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped fresh parsley if desired.
This Southern goulash is a hearty and satisfying one-pot meal that’s perfect for a cozy dinner with family and friends. Enjoy!
