Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes

1. In a large cast iron skillet, add the ground beef and brown until a deep brown crust appears before breaking the beef apart.

2. Stir the ground beef and continue to brown until a deep crust appears on about 50% of the beef.

3. Remove the beef from the skillet and add the butter, diced onions, bell peppers, and minced mushrooms. Let them brown for 1-2 minutes before stirring, then let brown for another 1-2 minutes before stirring again.

4. Add the browned ground beef back into the skillet.

5. In a small cup, mix the beef broth and cornstarch together until well combined.

6. Add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and beef broth/cornstarch mixture into the skillet.

7. Cook until the mixture is slightly thickened, with about 75% of the mixture above liquid, for 3-5 minutes.

8. Turn off the heat, then stir in the chopped Provolone cheese until melted and well combined.

9. Serve the Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes on toasted brioche buns.
