Instructions for Cleaning Your Iron Using Baking Soda
1. Unplug and Cool the Iron
To avoid burns, unplug and cool the iron before cleaning.
2. Make Baking Soda Paste
Mix 2 teaspoons baking soda and a little water in a small bowl to make a thick paste. Thick paste should stay on the iron without dripping.
3. Apply Paste to Iron Soleplate
Apply baking soda paste to the iron soleplate with a soft cloth, sponge, or old toothbrush. Concentrate on tough stains and scorched residue.
Avoid filling soleplate steam pores with baking soda. Apply paste around holes with a cotton swab if needed.
4. Gentle Soleplate Scrub
To remove dirt, stains, and residue, gently clean the soleplate in circles. Baking soda’s moderate abrasiveness removes filth without scratching.
5. Remove Baking Soda
Wipe the baking soda paste with a clean, moist cloth after scrubbing the soleplate. Remove all baking soda.
