Cotton Candy Cupcakes Recipe


Directions:
Cupcake Base:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.
In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, water, oil, sour cream, and egg whites. Beat until combined, then stir in the cheesecake pudding mix and cotton candy flavoring.
Divide the batter into two and color one part blue and the other part pink. Spoon the batter into the liners, alternating colors for a fun effect.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
Frosting:
Cream the butter, then mix in vanilla, sour cream, and cotton candy flavoring. Gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.
Divide the frosting into two batches and tint one batch blue and the other pink.
Fill a piping bag fitted with a star tip with both colors and swirl the frosting onto the cooled cupcakes.
Finishing Touches:
Sprinkle with edible glitter and add a piece of cotton candy on top for decoration.
