Directions:
For the Chocolate Cake:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
Beat in eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually add hot water.
Divide batter between pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool.
For the Lavender Cream Cheese Frosting:
5. Beat cream cheese and butter. Add sugar, lavender, vanilla, and coloring. Beat until fluffy.
For the Blueberry Layer:
6. Cook blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, and water until thickened. Cool.
For the Chocolate Ganache:
7. Heat cream until it simmers. Pour over chocolate chips and let stand. Whisk smooth.
To Assemble:
8. Place one cake layer on a plate. Spread with frosting, sprinkle lavender, then lavender layer.
Top with second cake layer, remaining frosting, and pour ganache over to drip down the sides.
Garnish with fresh blueberries and edible lavender if desired.
