Chocolate Orange Sheet Cake


Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the melted butter, hot water, eggs, sour cream, orange zest, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined and smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the cake is baking, prepare the chocolate orange glaze. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the cocoa powder and milk until smooth.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the powdered sugar, orange zest, and vanilla extract until the glaze is smooth.
Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly in the pan.
Pour the warm chocolate orange glaze over the warm cake, spreading it out evenly.
Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing and serving.
