Caramel Pretzel Crack Bars


Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
Spread the crushed pretzels evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the pretzels in the baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it out if necessary.
Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until melted and smooth.
Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer and spread it out evenly with a spatula.
Sprinkle sea salt over the top of the chocolate layer, if desired.
Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours, or until set.
Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the bars out of the baking dish. Cut into squares and serve.
